Ergh

The reason for my latest lack of attendance has to do with more than just uni - pc games are sapping my energy and time again, and it makes me angry at myself. I tried to say that I wouldn't play games for a week, but I don't have that much self discipline, so I've frustrated my plans to ruin my life through computer games by deleting them all!

That'll learn me! Suck eggs, Dboy!

Well done Dboy, that takes courage. You have no idea how many of your acolytes have fainted dead away on reading of the possibility that one could DELETE one's games for the greater good!

Thanks guys - and you're right Pavlos, I've kept the saved games :) But that's not gonna be a problem though, cos it takes me too long to install the game that I play the most, and by the time I put the cd in I'll remember the grief it has brought me.

I'll install the games again when I know I've got my lief back together :) And when I don't have any assignments due.

passive is probably consuming type entertainment - t.v, reading, movies, computer, internet, etc.

maybe active are 'creating' type entertainment - uh-dunno...um... woodwork, painting, gardening, sport, writing, etc. flawed? maybe.

maybe active = social too so that's ummm... coffee w/ friends, hanging out, church (entertainment?), visiting people, phone calls, irc, etc

feeding or being fed.

I like your definitions of active and passive too. Funny how some things are a combination of both (eg. church).

Actually, I just thought about that and I really think that church shouldn't be a combination of passive and active. Even if you are sitting and listening to a message, I think that you should always be active in thinking about how you can apply it to your life. There would be no point in messages at church if we weren't doing this, and I think the people who want to get something valuable out of a message, will always get something valuable.

Yeah, good point, puffy :)

And maybe it should apply to the way we watch TV too...

Hehehe... maybe. Or maybe that you could be critically assessing what you are watching.
